Ceramic Bushings
Why Use Ceramic Bushings?
There are a number of advantages to using ceramic materials for machining in industrial systems. One of the primary characteristics of technical ceramics is that they are extremely hard, and this makes ceramics good for creating grinding plates and other parts which need to be able to grind substances well. Ceramic bushings, which are used to reduce friction between movable parts, are able to reduce sand and grit to a fine powder so that machine function is not impaired.
Ceramic Bushings and Other Standard Parts
Ceramic bushings and other standard parts are all made by specialist ceramic machining manufacturers. These include nozzles, rings, tubes, guides, spacers, washers and many other parts. Ceramics are made by the action of high temperatures on substances (hence the alternative name often given to technical ceramics, ‘High Temperature’ ceramics). The very way in which ceramic materials are formed means that ceramic parts are tempered for high heat consumption and can be used for furnace components and in other applications where resistance to high temperatures is important.
