High Temperature Ceramics

What are High Temperature Ceramics?

High Temperature ceramics are the class of ceramic materials which are formed by the action of heat on substances at high materials, which is used to form materials such as Aluminum Oxide (which is commonly referred to by the industrial name of Alumina) and Steatite. High Temperature ceramics are also referred to as technical ceramics, and include a long list of materials which have high heat resistance due to the fact that they are naturally tempered for heat consumption.

Machining and High Temperature Ceramics

High Temperature ceramics are used to make machining for various industrial applications, from applications in research laboratories to manufacturing and processing plants. High Temperature ceramics are used to make parts such as insulators, nozzles, spacers, guides, rods, rings, and many other machining components. A specialist ceramic machining manufacturer should be able to supply these standard parts in standard size specifications, and may even be able to make unique parts to order, according to original designs.

Ceramic Washers

Ceramic Washers for Various Industries

Ceramic machining is used in a wide array of industries, from thermal processing to electricity production and various manufacturing industries. Ceramic washers are versatile, as washers can be used as spacers for the reduction of corrosion due to friction but are also used as locking devices in various applications. Ceramic washers are made out of technical ceramics such as Alumina, Steatite and others which provide durability as well as cost-effectiveness.

Types of Ceramic Washers

There are various different types of ceramic washers which can be obtained, from star washers to insulated washers and many other varieties. Post-firing, many ceramic machining components do not require additional work such as drilling and firing, which helps to reduce the final cost of obtaining ceramic machining components. The lack of need for time and resource-consuming processes means that it is also affordable to have custom machining components made from technical ceramics, a service which experienced manufacturers can easily provide.
