Ceramic Rings

Ceramic Rings

It is hard to believe that something as simple as a ring made of a ceramic material can be used in a great number of different industries. Simple parts which are durable and do not require frequent replacement are usually popular, however, which explains why many industrial companies choose to use ceramic rings in machine systems. Ceramic rings which are used industrially are usually made from one of the group of materials known simply as technical ceramics.

Buying Ceramic Rings

When you purchase ceramic rings, it is possible to obtain rings made from a number of different ceramic materials. Alumina, or aluminum oxide (the scientific name for the material) is one of the most popular technical ceramics, and is itself subdivided into different Alumina percentage types. Other materials which ceramic machining manufacturers use include silicon carbide, steatite and fused silica. The virtue of ceramic machining is that it is hard and able to handle high temperatures, thus making it truly versatile.
